new crochet pattern - triple panelled scarf by tara schreyer

Skill Level: Easy Plus

I am totally addicted to scarves. Although I can create them myself, I always find myself looking at the scarves in the department stores and I will often come home with one. This past winter, I purchased even more, ignoring the fact that I have a bin full of my own creations at home. One of my purchases was a knit scarf that I picked up at a thrift store. I love that scarf and I received a ton of compliments on it. It is wide and long and perfect for wrapping.
It inspired me to create a similar scarf using crochet stitches and I am pleased with the results. I hope that you will be too!

The pattern suggests 990 yds of Knit Picks Andean Treasure - 100% Baby Alpaca, but any favorite sport weight yarn will work up beautifully for this scarf. It is worked in one piece and it is the switching of stitches in each row that gives it the illusion of being worked in panels.

Finished size: 78" length x 9" wide
