new crochet pattern - sea glass shawl by kim miller.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Sea Glass is a light weight, carefree, shawl edged with lacy pineapples that roll and crest just like the waves of the sea.

The entire shawl is worked sideways with the edging worked at the same time. Shorter stitches along the top edge give the shawl a slightly crescent shape which allows it to drape beautifully around the neckline.

This crochet pattern calls for approximately 2 skeins of Midknit Cravings Sugar (Silver/Gold) 115 g (4.05 ounces)/388 meters (425 yards) per skein, a 3.25 mm (D) crochet hook, and a yarn needle. This detailed well written pattern includes written instructions, as well as a chart of the first 12 and the last 11 rows.

Pre-blocked the shawl measures approximately 152.4 cm (60”) at its widest point, and 45.7 cm (18”) at its longest point. Blocked the shawl measures approximately 177.8 cm (70”) at its widest point, and 49.5 cm (19.5”) longest point. Please note that measurements are approximate and will be affected by the gauge and the brand of yarn.

new crochet pattern - vintage coffee coasters by tara schreyer.

Vintage Coffee Coasters by Tara Schreyer

 http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/vintage-coffee-coasters

These coasters were inspired from some coasters that my aunt had given to her. She loved them dearly but they were starting to show the love that they received over the years. She asked if I would be able to make her some new ones. Well, of course! But these had a little extra something that made them unique! They had a rubber ring (used in canning) incorporated into one of the rounds. Reminds me of how crafters, in days gone by, were very thrifty and creative in choosing their crafting materials. Therefore, I called them "vintage" as they make me think of simpler times.

This pattern offers well written instructions and figure pictures. It calls for only 5 grams/18.25 yards of sport weight cotton (or comparable yarn) and a 2-3/8” Rubber Sealing Ring for each coaster.

Finished size: 4 1/4” (10.8 cm) diameter.

new crochet pattern - cobblestone road infinity scarf by tara schreyer.

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cobblestone-road-infinity-scarf
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cobblestone-road-infinity-scarf

Skill Level: Easy

The textures of this scarf remind me of the old beautiful cobblestone roads meeting the paved roads of the modern world.

This well written pattern includes a chart and figure pictures to serve as visual aids to the written pattern. It is made up of the simple stitches of single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet.

The pattern recommends using 705 yds/320 g of fingering weight yarn (2) but it would look beautiful in any yarn weight. I personally used Knit Picks Andean Treasure (100% Baby Alpaca) and a 5.00mm (H/8) crochet hook so it is lightweight and airy, yet warm.

Finished measurement (once blocked out): Approx 12" wide x 64" long (before joining ends)
