These gorgeous, knit-look, fingerless mitts are so much easier to crochet then they look! Plus, I show you an easy way to switch the colours without having to fasten off...which means a lot less yarn ends to work in.

Crochet instructions are written for one size (Ladies size S/M), but the post stitches allow for lots of stretch. Mitts measure approximately 17.8 cm (7”) in circumference but will stretch to fit 19 cm (7½”), and they are 21.6 cm (8½”) long. Please note that measurements are approximate and will be affected by the gauge and the brand of yarn.

This crochet pattern calls for a 3.00 mm crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge), stitch marker, yarn needle, ½ ball of Knit Picks® Chroma Fingering Yarn in Grey, and ½ to ¾ of a ball of Knit Picks® Chroma in Hollyhock. The extra ¼ of a ball of Hollyhock should be enough to compensate for the colour match. 

The pattern is complete with detailed instructions and colour illustrations.

The mittens are worked in the round from the fingers up. Skills and techniques used are: sc, hdc, dc, front post double crochet, and front post double crochet 2 together.

Imagine how much fun you can have with a pair of mustache mitts? These mitts are sure to bring a smile to your face, and because they are quick to crochet they will make a wonderful gift for the mustache lover in your life!

This well written, detailed crochet pattern calls for one ball of Patons Classic Wool [100 g (3.5 ounces)/192 meters (210 yards) per ball] for the mitts, and scraps of black for the mustache. The pattern uses the following techniques and stitches: the double adjustable ring, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet and half double crochet 2 together.

Please note that Drops® Alpaca is considered a sport weight (2) but, it works up like a fingering weight (1) so Berroco® Ultra Alpaca Fine makes for an excellent substitute yarn. "Eeeeee!!! DONKEYS!! They are so funny!" This was the reaction of a precious little 4-year-old when she saw this crochet design. She has only seen a picture but with that reaction, she will be getting her very own pair, for sure!!!

These will provide tons of smiles for your little ones while keeping their little digits warm in the cold months. They can use their imagination while making them "come to life". And for those that are "a kid at heart" the pattern includes instructions for adults as well.

Small (toddler to child) - 3” wide x 7” long

My sister has a pair of donkey mitts and her ability to make them "come to life" and give them their own personality makes me chuckle.  I don't feel that can get away with wearing my own pair (considering the 10 year age difference) but I just love those mitts. After so much use, they are all tattered and worn, and although they are in no shape to wear no one is ready to part with them. Although these will never replace the originals, I have come up with a design that I'm sure will come in at a close second!!

Just finishing up the final details on the pattern now and it will be made available to everyone interested in the next few days.  Hope they make you smile as much as they do me!
